Haitian TPS Update
UPDATE: Since TPS was denied by the Bush administration, Haitian advocates are pressing President Obama to take action and grant TPS to Haitians. The Miami Herald recently reported that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commented on the burden deported Haitians would be to Haiti at this time, and the help that remittances provide to Haitians. Currently, there are about 30,000 Haitians facing deportation, but if TPS is granted, Haitians in the United States would receive work permits and be able to live temporarily in the United States.
