STATES TAKE THE INITIATIVE IN IMMIGRATION REFORM
It is no surprise that failure on the part of Congress to reform the immigration laws has resulted in a record number of bills and resolutions being passed by the various States. LEADERS ORGANIZE TO PERSUADE CONGRESS TO ENACT IMMIGRATION REFORM
The Immigration debate continues as leaders from the Center for American Progress, NAACP, AFL-CIO, the National Council of La Raza, agriculture industry, and other groups gathered on June 3, 2009 to begin a national campaign for reform of the immigration laws. More than 700 advocates from over 35 states are participating in meetings, town halls, training and lobbying visits to encourage Congress to act. Read the rest of this entry »
